Bringing Both Cultures Together
One of the most beautiful aspects of this wedding was how Deva and Jim honored both of their heritages throughout the day. They wanted to blend their Jewish and Indian cultures into a celebration that felt respectful and reflective of who they are as a couple.
During the wedding reception, they embraced the Jewish tradition of the Hora, a lively and joyous circle dance that was the perfect way to start the celebration. Guests were invited to join in, and the energy in the room was electric as everyone danced together in a circle, lifting the couple on chairs as part of this ancient tradition.
But the blending didn’t stop there. Deva and Jim also incorporated an Indian cultural element with a special bridesmaid dance. The bridesmaids surprised the couple with a vibrant and lively dance performance, showcasing Deva’s Indian heritage in a beautiful and playful way. It was a moment that perfectly captured the couple’s joy, their families’ traditions, and the cultural fusion that made their wedding so special.

The florist did an incredible job of reimagining the traditional wedding arch, making it a unique centerpiece of the ceremony. As their month-of coordinator, my job was to help bring everything together and make sure the day ran smoothly. Deva and Jim had already put in so much work planning their wedding, and my team and I were there to tie up any loose ends, coordinate with vendors, and ensure everything went off without a hitch. From the beautiful ceremony to the seamless transition into the reception, it was an honor to be there to execute their vision and make sure their day was as stress-free as possible.
One of my unique contributions was helping navigate the timeline for the cultural elements. With so many traditions and customs being woven into the day, it was essential to manage the flow of events while honoring both cultures. The energy on the dance floor, as both cultures were celebrated, was truly magical.
