Wedding Planner

We are looking for a wedding planner who has experience managing large events with multiple moving pieces. Specifically, we need assistance with our month-of-wedding couples. You will begin working with the couple about six weeks before the wedding and help manage the timeline, wedding vendors, and the couple’s vision.

Wedding Planner Job Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients to learn about their preferences and present options.
  • Help clients design, plan, and procure vendors, services, and décor within budget and client specifications.
  • Organize the event from start to finish and create a detailed timeline.
  • Keep clients informed and up-to-date with planning progress.
  • Stay on top of current wedding trends to make recommendations that will enhance the client’s experience.
  • Troubleshoot unforeseen stopgaps or obstacles to keep things moving along and on schedule.
  • Communicate with other wedding vendors.
  • Attend the wedding ceremony rehearsal and be present from setup to breakdown on the day of the wedding.
  • Arrange equipment or material rentals.
  • Assist in breaking down the event and ensure all personal items are returned.
  • Ensure the couple and bridal party feel comfortable and confident.
  • Keep clients updated on the progress of their wedding planning.
  • Set up and detail items like programs, chairs, tables, linens, etc.

Work Hours

This is a part-time, project-based job. You will be working with the couple, starting about six weeks before their wedding and going up through the end of their wedding night. You may be working on more than one wedding at a time. We are the busiest during the spring and fall. Weddings are typically on weekends and evenings.

Wedding Planner Qualifications and Skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail, creativity, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage several events and schedules at one time.
  • Comfortable giving direction and being flexible with changing requirements.
  • Impeccable time-management skills.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Work well with other wedding vendors to achieve the common goal.
  • Ability to be on your feet working the weddings.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or a similar field preferred.
  • 3 years’ experience as a wedding planner, event coordinator, or similar role.
