A Couple Full of Personality
Amy and Kevin’s story began in the most modern-yet-old-school way—on a dating app. What sealed the deal for Amy? Kevin’s profile picture with a pig. Sometimes, it’s the quirkiest little things that tell you someone is “the one.” Both brought warmth, humor, and heart to every step of planning, making them a joy to work with.
What made their celebration extra special was how much of themselves they infused into the day. Amy hand-crafted many of the décor elements for the reception. After the wedding, she incorporated several of these pieces into their home—so the wedding continues to live on as part of their everyday life.

Why They Chose a Raspberry Plain Manor Wedding
Raspberry Plain Manor is one of my favorite venues in Leesburg, VA, and Amy and Kevin immediately fell in love with it. They wanted a space that could showcase the beauty of spring in Virginia, and Raspberry Plain’s sprawling lawns and elegant architecture were the perfect fit.
One of the things that made this venue truly special for them was the ability to create an entire wedding weekend experience. The couple stayed on the property in one of the manor’s houses alongside their bridal party, turning the celebration into a mini getaway filled with laughter, connection, and memory-making.

Rustic, Whimsical, and Unforgettable
The wedding day itself was blessed with perfect spring weather. The soft breeze, blooming greenery, and the backdrop of the manor created an atmosphere that felt simultaneously timeless and relaxed.
Their color palette leaned into the season—mossy mint greens paired with rustic, nature-inspired tones. It reflected both the freshness of spring and the romantic charm of the setting.
Family played a meaningful role as well. One of the most touching details was the groom carrying a piece of the parachute that had saved his grandfather’s life in World War II. This family heirloom had been sewn into his mother’s wedding dress and later into his sister’s gown. On this day, it was tucked into Kevin’s jacket pocket, symbolizing protection and the continuity of love through generations.

Reception Details Guests Will Never Forget
From the moment guests stepped into Raspberry Plain Manor’s reception space, the thought Amy put into every detail was clear. The whimsical décor, hand-crafted touches, and the way the venue’s rustic architecture framed it all created a true fairytale atmosphere.
And then came one of the most memorable highlights: the t-shirt toss. With a dramatic balcony overhead, Amy and Kevin had custom t-shirts made and tossed them into the crowd. It was unexpected, playful, and an absolute crowd favorite. Guests went wild—it’s moments like these that remind me why I love helping couples bring their personalities into their celebrations.
