The bride and her family grew up attending Blessed Sacrament, which just so happens to be my own childhood church—and the very place I got married myself. That kind of personal connection adds so much depth and trust right from the start. We were speaking the same language before we even began planning.

Why Columbia Country Club Is One of My Favorite Wedding Venues in Maryland
Columbia Country Club is one of those rare venues that balances tradition with refined beauty. The private setting offers both warmth and sophistication, with indoor and outdoor options that work for any season. For C&D’s reception, we made full use of the gorgeous natural light and timeless interiors, complementing the spring palette with soft whites, dusty blues, and classic greenery.
The venue’s layout makes guest flow feel seamless, and the staff is truly unmatched—professional, kind, and dedicated to excellence. It’s no surprise that Laura Gaige, one of Columbia’s incredible coordinators, referred C&D to me with the words, “Colleen is the best.” Once we connected, we realized how many mutual connections we had, which made the planning process feel even more collaborative and comfortable.

A Beautiful Spring Wedding Day in Bethesda
C&D’s wedding day landed right at the end of spring, with that unmistakable early summer energy—warm sunshine, relaxed guests, and flowers in full bloom. The vibe was fresh, airy, and elevated without ever feeling stuffy.
The wedding party looked effortlessly elegant in navy blue and white, with the bridesmaids in timeless floor-length dresses and the bride in a sleek, modern gown. Florals were classic and clean—white lilies, hydrangeas, and lush greens in beautiful blue-and-white porcelain vases that tied the look together. The invitation suite, tableware, and personal details echoed this palette with thoughtful consistency.

Personal Touches and Family Traditions
One of my favorite moments from the day was seeing C&D incorporate family so naturally. From the ceremony at the bride’s childhood church to quiet, tender moments between the bride and her mom while getting ready, it was clear this day was grounded in love, history, and connection.
My Role as Their Planner
This was a detail-heavy wedding, and my job was to make sure none of that detail felt heavy to C&D. I took on the logistics, the last-minute questions, the vendor timelines, and all the tiny things that come up behind the scenes—so they could simply enjoy. I helped bring their vision to life while keeping things running smoothly and calmly from start to finish.
