... Don't eat the cake display till its been served.
Now I know I normally just comment on the Real Housewives of New York, however I thought this week's Real Housewives of Orange County had an opportunity I shouldn't pass up. Sometimes when I think about what lesson I would like to convey I often think "that lesson is too obvious." Well I stand corrected in ever thinking that. Just because it is obvious to me (and most of the world) apparently some lessons still need to be said out loud.
The Real Housewives of OC gals are not as great with their blogs so everything is based on what we saw in this week's episode. This week Heather hosted a lovely outdoor party (with mandatory fur coats) to celebrate the fact she finally legally took her husband's last name. The centerpiece for the party was the cake that had her new initials on and Heather was excited to make a toast and present the cake. I knew the second Sarah showed up at the party things were going to get aggressive. I don't think I've seen an episode with Sarah being the example of how one should act in a social setting.

Now I could write many blogs about Sarah's etiquette (or lack of), but I think I'll stick with my main lesson and that is don't take a piece of the cake (with your fingers none the less) before its been presented and served. Regardless of the fact that the cake was the centerpiece of the entire event, a guest should never cut (or pick) into a food that is "whole" unless it is clear it is time for it to be eaten. Again, I almost feel silly writing this blog, because it really shouldn't even need to be said.
